ISPR, OAF and SSYPADO Organizes National Youth Agenda Conference in Entebbe, Uganda.

The National Youth Representatives to the IGAD High-Level Revitalisation Forum (HLRF) is organizing a two-day National Youth Agenda Conference. The meeting is organised on behalf of the Youth Organisations’ Coalition (YOC) by Okay African Foundation (OAF), South Sudan Youth for Peace and Development Organization (SSYPADO) and the Institute of Social Policy and Research (ISPR). These organisations are non-governmental and not-for-profit organisations working to increase participation of young people in peacebuilding and governance processes.

The Coalition’s main goal is to bring together youth-led civil society organizations, private entities and political party youth wings to consolidate their active participation in local and national initiatives in a bid to bring peace and stability to the country as well as jump-start youth involvement in policymaking and issues that affect them. The coalition desires to amplify the voices of youth on peace while taking into consideration the role played by youth in armed conflicts and peacebuilding. The Coalition is made up of 35 member organizations and open to any interested institution that is led by youth or focus on youth programs.

The National Youth Agenda Conference aims to develop consensus among various youth groups both political and non-political and increase tolerance of divergent views, ethnic and cultural diversity, and active participation of youth in the ongoing HLRF peace negotiations and subsequent implementation process.
