The Civil Society Coalition on Natural Resources (CSCNR) is a formation of 43 civil society organizations including the trade union of petroleum and mine workers in South Sudan. The Coalition was formed in 2018 shortly after civil society groups were trained on the petroleum laws and regulations in South Sudan. The aim of the Coalition is to amplify advocacy efforts, share information and exploit the diverse expertise of civil society actors.

The Coalition aims to influence sustainable development, exploration and utilization of revenues from natural resources to benefit the citizens. The CSCNR members have signed charter and memorandum of understanding among its membership that clearly outline the obligation of the members. The charter provides the governance structure of the Coalition from the national to subnational level.
